Victorian Tea Caddy Import Date 1898

A decorative bombay shaped tea caddy, the sides embobossed with putti and pastoral scenes, the finial a cast lion. The caddy bears the import marks of importer J G Smith & Co, noted as having imported a great deal of silver, particularly of German origin.
It measures 5.5" (14cm) to top of finial, 3.4" x 2.7"  (8.7cm x 7cm) at widest point of bombe.
