Trefid Spoon Winchester c1690 by Richard Smith

A William and Mary plain provincial trefid spoon made in c1690 by Richard Smith of Winchester. Contemporary pricked initials EC above RC to front with later pricked date 1670. Richard Smith's maker's mark 'S' and large fleur-de-lys struck three times on the back. Richard Smith married Elizabeth Webb, becoming brother-in-law to Winchester goldsmith William Webb II with whom he shared dies.
