Swing Handled Sugar Basket London 1792 by Henry Chawner

Boat-shaped baskets of the period, traditionally for sugar, are beautifully engraved and pierced and Henry Chawner was a prolific maker of such items. This thread edge example, with blue glass liner, measures 4.5" (11.5cm) high, 6" (15.2cm) long and is engraved with contemporary initials MC.
