Snuff Box Moscow 1835 by I Kaltikov

A rectangular niello snuff box made by Ivan Kaltikov with Nicholai Dubrovin as Assay Master. Niello is a mixture of sulphur, lead, silver and copper used to fill engraved decoration and contrasts beautifully with the silver. The box, 3.2" (8.2cm) long by 1.3" (3.5cm) wide, is also marked on the hinged lid.
