A late Victorian condiment set - 2 mustard pots and 2 pepper pots of kitchen type, with two spoons (one silver, the other electroplated).

Made in London in 1891 by George Gilliam overstriking another, probably E. C. Purdie.

They are engraved with the Arms of Captain Walter Richard Shaw-Stewart JP CCC, son of Sir Michael Shaw-Stewart, 7th Bt, and his wife Mary Beatrice Lane. His father, Colonel Sir Michael Robert Shaw-Stewart, 7th Baronet (26 November 1826-10 Dec 1903) was Member of Parliament for Renfrewshire from 1855 to 1865, Lord Lieutenant of Renfrewshire from 1869 to 1903 and Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Scotland from 1873 to 1882. On 28 December 1852, he married Lady Octavia Grosvenor, a daughter of the 2nd Marquis of Westminster. Walter was one of three children.
