A good Charles I London Apostle spoon measuring 7.25" (18.3cm) long. It once formed belonged to a collector who was clearly in the habit, common in Victorian times, of 'labelling' their silver and so has been hand engraved along the back of the stem 'St Bartholomew 1638'.  The 1st Marquess of Breadalbane (1851-1922) is an example of this practice - he was an enthusiastic collector of silver and one of the pioneers in the field of early spoons who signed each of his spoons with his name.
