A charming well-made set of six small dishes, in pristine condition, each 5.1" (13cm) in diameter. The earliest was made in London in 1825 by Charles Price and the identical remaining five were made in Dublin in 1844 by Richard Smith.
It is interesting to speculate on the background to this, but presumably the owner of the 1825 piece decided some years later to get himself a full set. Each piece, besides the very crisp flat-chasing, is engraved with the arms of the Irish Hewitt family, the head of which is Viscount Lifford.
